Synopsis:
As a theatre festival, Southernmost is conceptualised as Emergency Stairs' answer to the question, "How do you create an arts festival for the future?"
Southernmost invites the audience to closely follow the artistic dialogues between the traditional and the contemporary, occurring both onstage and offstage in a series of open rehearsals and showcases that build up towards a production and forum. Drawing on the process of critique and self-critique, Southernmost is an attempt to develop a long-term vision for how exchange and change can happen in the future.
