Synopsis:
Telok Ayer, once located along Singapore's old coastline, was originally planned as a Chinese district in Raffles' 1822 town plan. However, the diverse immigrant communities that settled here reshaped it, creating a vibrant mix of religious and cultural institutions.
Set against the historical district of Telok Ayer, Impressions of Telok Ayer unfolds through four distinct narratives. As the dancers move, they blur the lines between past and present, history and imagination. As the performance unfolds, dancers will blur the lines between past and present, between history and imagination. This is more than performance - it's an invitation to touch time itself, to feel the continuum of art and heritage that connects us all.
