Synopsis:
Held during Singapore Art Week at The Factory, New Bahru, this third exhibition explores space—from the vastness of the universe to the intimacy of human connection—within an 8,000 sq. ft. industrial warehouse.
Curated by Edward Mitterrand, the exhibition presents works by artists who recontextualise elements of nature, humanity, and architecture. Highlights include Ugo Rondinone's celestial Starnight, Liz Deschenes' sky-like void, Tracey Emin's evocative body landscapes, Richard Long's Spiral of driftwood, and Louise Bourgeois' nurturing figures.
Through themes of displacement, materiality, and presence, the exhibition invites us to reflect on the spaces we inhabit and the connections they reveal—reminding us, as Ugo Rondinone said, that "The sky and space are the greatest themes of art."
