Synopsis:

Can a grain of rice hold a legend?

Don't miss our new exhibition series CANVAS/S: Tales as New as Time and explore rich narratives embedded in everyday objects, traditions, and memories, with a focus on rice as a cultural symbol!

Drawing inspiration from regional folktales, oral histories, and materials from the National Library Board's collection, our artists explore how rice transcends its role as a staple food to become a metaphor for care, sustenance, and cultural identity.

Join us at Jurong Regional Library from 17 January - 17 March 2025 to celebrate how traditions are preserved, adapted, and reimagined through art. Looking for a deeper experience? Catch interactive installations, contribute to evolving artworks, and sign up for the exciting programmes and specially curated tours led by the artists themselves!
