Synopsis:
Come and experience the joy and nurturing energy of the sun captured as big, bold expressions of bright hues at the artist studio in Peace Centre.
During her short 6-week stint in a vacated shop lot converted into an art studio, abstract artist Melanie took the chance to explore the sun's vitality on a large scale with pops of florescent hues. Combining movement, drawing, and painting, she employs bright pink and orange hues as impressions of the sun's vibrant creative spirit.
Now exhibited in the space as hanging installations, A Walk with the Sun showcases a series of large sketches, being Melanie's tribute to the sun's warmth as a nurturing and supportive presence.
A unique showcase during Singapore Art Week at the soon-to-be-demolished Peace Centre building. Initiated by PlayPan founders Gary Hong and Yvonne Siow, Peace Centre was temporarily converted into a space for creative experimentation themed #playforgood before it will be handed back for redevelopment at the end of January 2024.
