Synopsis:
Relieved from institutional demands, we ruminate over the role of independent art spaces, as incubators nurturing future generations of artists, a convergence between radical ideas, artists & civil society, and most importantly as a vehicle for change.
A panel conversation with Tan Pey Chuan (Creator of I_S_L_A_N_D_S), Dr. Wang Ruobing (Co-founder of Comma Space and Lecturer at LASALLE College of the Arts) and Gwen Lee (Co-founder and Director of DECK), moderated by Usha Chandradas (Publisher of (Plu)ral Art LLP).
Part of Currents Above Ground, a series of activations picking up the conversation about the role of independent art spaces in civil society, in the context of its own unknown future of permanency in the neighbourhood.
