Inspired by history, and want to breathe new life into old stories on stage?
Join playwright Jean Tay for this two-part workshop, where you can learn how to translate an idea inspired by historical events, from the page to the stage. Through hands-on exercises, participants will be introduced to the fundamentals of dramatic writing, and learn how to create compelling characters and dramatic scenarios.
This workshop is recommended for writers and those who have basic playwriting experience. Writers may or may not have had their scripts staged before. Participants are encouraged to bring in a story idea that they are inspired by and interested to explore.

This workshop is co-hosted by Centre 42 and Singapore Book Council (@singaporebookcouncil), in tandem with the live-streamed online talk "Page-To-Stage: Adapting Sing Lit to Singapore Theatre" on 24 Nov 2021, 8pm.
