Singapore Chinese Orchestra collaborates with Mediacorp Radio Capital 95.8FM DJs yet again, to present this annual favourite Chinese New Year concert Rhapsodies of Spring. Conducted by by SCO Music Director, Tsung Yeh, the Rhapsodies of Spring 2021 concert will no longer be a live concert performance, but broadcasted on various platforms, to bring festive cheers to all - beyond geographical boundaries.

On 12 February 2021 (Friday) 8pm, Rhapsodies of Spring 2021 concert will be broadcasted on SCO Facebook page, Mediacorp radio CAPITAL 958 and their Facebook page, as well as 8world Entertainment Life Facebook page, 8world Youtube and 8world CNY Microsite. On 19 February 2021 (Friday), 10.30am, Rhapsodies of Spring 2021 concert will be broadcasted on Mediacorp TV Channel 8.

As usual, SCO will perform festive pieces to welcome the Chinese New Year, which will include audience's all-time favourite Li Huanzhi's Spring Festival Overture《春节序曲》, adapted by Sim Boon Yew. To usher in the year of Ox, SCO will perform Gu Guanren's A Glimpse of Singapore, Movement II: Chinatown (《星岛掠影》第二乐章《牛车水》). SCO suona Associate Principal Chang Le will be presenting Liu Ying's Happy Lantern Festival《正月十五闹雪灯》, orchestrated by Zhou Zhongkang. Keeping up the momentum, the orchestra will perform energetic renditions of iconic pieces, such as: God of Fortune Blesses the New Year《财神恭喜太平年》, arranged by Liong Kit Yeng, and Georges Bizet's Carmen Overture《卡门序曲》, rearranged by Zou Ye.

SCO will then round off the programme with festive performance (Director: Judy Ngo, Text: Tung Ka Wai, Music: Law Wai Lun) with Mediacorp Radio Capital 95.8FM DJs Liang Peng 梁萍, Lu Linxuan吕霖轩, Yeow Seng Yong邱胜扬 and Huang Shujun黄淑君, to get audience members in a celebratory mood.
