Synopsis:

Days — and counting

Days — and counting is an on-going portrait of COVID-19 that captures the surreal and strange times we live in through the lens of art and artists. The programme unfolds in three seasons each taking the form of an immersive digital experience that explores our new reality under the pandemic.

The digital art walk takes the metaphor of a dream. The seasons mirror Singapore slowly awakening and having to adapt to new measures and an inescapable reality. These experiences unpack the effects of COVID-19 on a personal and collective level.

Season 1: Walls Crumble

Walls Crumble is the first iteration of the three-part exploration on the effects of COVID-19 on Singapore, which specifically focuses on home and the circuit breaker. A turning point in our fight against COVID-19, it signalled the start of a new normal. Some embraced it, some didn't, but everyone had to adapt. Our relationships with our homes changed as the boundaries between public and private blurred. Our home now takes on multiple new roles to support a new way of life. Five local artists presented new works to reflect on this change.

In the digital art walk experience, audiences will be invited to explore a surreal living space in which each interaction with an object reveals an artwork or narrative to explore.
