Synopsis:

Hitmaker Global Academy, an advanced teaching methodology contemporary music learning school, has launched the International Solo & Ensemble competition for the second year.

This year the competition will combine both the Solo and the Ensemble segments and will be conducted online due to the ongoing Covid-19 Pandemic.

A total of 750 participants have signed up from the preliminaries organised through online submissions in August 2020. From the submissions, a further 510 entries were shortlisted for the semi-finals happening from Oct 1-6 across 8 countries. The countries are Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and the cities in the Mainland China such as Guangzhou, Hangzhou, and Kunming

The competition will be carried out in 4 stages gradually towards live competitions in Singapore & Sydney in 2021. The Singapore Final round result will be announced on Hitmaker Global Academy's official website hitmaker.sg on October 15 as well as the official website of the Emperor International Music Center and Tian Ma International Music Center.

The finals are tentatively scheduled for January 30, 2021-February 4 (six days and five nights) subjected to the Covid-19 developments.

In every competition, we invite world renown musicians, educators, and industry experts to adjudicate the competition and conduct masterclasses for our contestants. This year, a global crisis has hit the international community and our competitions has been postponed amid the pandemic. The moment has come for us to persevere and continue our pursuit for excellence. We also want to remind people about the importance of music and that music has the power to heal people during this difficult period'.

Notable judges for the competition include Dr. Hardy Mertens, a famous Composer in Europe, Associate Professor Zuo Jun of NUS Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, Darrell Ang, Artistic Director of The Sichuan Orchestra of China and Ng Yu Ying, Singapore T'ang Quartet 1st violinist.

The ISEC 2020/2021 is about togetherness. The organiser hopes to bring together musical talents and encourage everyone to see the intrinsic value music can bring to people and the society.

The semi-finals, which is running from 1-6 October 2020, will be broadcast live on The FLUX TV Channel, Hitmaker Official Youtube Channel and Bilibili.com.
