Singapore Dance Theatre (SDT) has announced that they will be collaborating with Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay to perform in one of its pilot small-scale performances with a live audience. This is part of the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth and the National Arts Council's trial for the progressive re-opening of Singapore's arts and culture sector. The pilot contemporary dance performance, From Here On, is the first of its kind since live performances in the arts sector were unexpectedly halted by the pandemic that hit Singapore earlier this year.
From Here On represents the company's promise to remain progressive and adaptable in times of change and difficulty. SDT has vowed to stay committed to inspire, unite and persevere through the toughest of times.
This exclusive performance will feature Configurations pas deux by Singapore Choreographer Choo-San Goh, The Nutcracker Act II pas de deux, Swan Lake Act II pas de deux as well as the pas de deux from Act III of Don Quixote. The one-day-only performance will have two shows, 3pm and 7.30pm.
The well-being of everyone is our priority and rest assured that Esplanade is putting in place all the appropriate safe management measures for this performance. These include temperature screening and the use of SafeEntry application at the venue; increased frequency of cleaning and sanitisation of the venue and equipment, as well as adhering to the safe distancing practices for audiences, artists and staff backstage.
