Synopsis:

YH Conservation opens up its studio for the public to discover what goes on behind the scenes in the conservation of artworks. Participants can also attend talks and workshops that shed light on the various processes applied for artworks across different mediums.

Art conservation is a small but important cog in the fast-moving art industry. While mostly behind the scenes, the role of art conservation is the reason many works have lasted through generations. Apart from practical conservation work, there are many aspects under the umbrella of conservation that contributes to the well-being of artworks. To help bring art conservation to the forefront, YH Conservation is opening up its studio for an open house during Singapore Art Week 2020 and conducting a series of workshops. The objective of this programme is to help inform the public on the importance of understanding art conservation from different perspectives.
