Synopsis:

Gajah Gallery presents GENSET, bringing together multiple generations of artists from Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines and Singapore. Curated by Syed Muhammad Hafiz, GENSET aims to rediscover what sparks artists and their desire to create, exploring the relationship between mentor and mentees, and how one's art can resonate with and continue to inspire future generations. Exploring the topic of contemporary inspiration, one asks the question: how are artists inspired, and how do they inspire in turn?
