Synopsis:

On behalf of DADC (Diverse Abilities Dance Collective) and Maya Dance Theatre (MDT), we would like to invite you to our debut production, SPEAKING WITH HANDS, on 7th November 2019.

In the past year, we have had the pleasure of creating a co-existing space for persons with different abilities and professional art practitioners to come together to provides semi-professional dance opportunities for all abilities – with an aim to provide a holistic experience for anyone with a strong passion for dance to grow and develop.

Initiated as part of MDT in June 2018 by artistic director of MDT, Kavitha Krishnan, and spearheaded by programme leader, Subastian Tan, DADC is formed by 15 like-minded individuals with mixed abilities who undergo a dance programme with the kind support from SG Enable.

SPEAKING WITH HANDS will feature dancers from DADC performing a diverse selection of choreographies by an array of artists: choreographer, Liz Lea (Canberra, Australia), Subastian Tan and Eva Tey from MDT with text improvisation by theatre practitioner, Grace Khoo, original music composition by Kailin Yong and poetry by Jo Davasason.

Speaking with hands is directed by Kavitha Krishnan and features the following DADC dancers: Arassis Rajkumar, Eva Tey, June Lin, Megan Tang, Jaspreet Kaur, Chen Wanyi, Hee Yuan Sheng, Judith Teo and Subastian Tan
