Synopsis:

Have you ever wondered how sounds of plastic can be music/musical?

Comprised of contemporary dancer Valerie Lim and classical saxophonist Michellina Chan, Duo plastiCITY invites you to a site-sensitive inter-disciplinary performance walk where audiences are invited to participate with pieces of plastic to create a complex soundscape.

This collaboration blurs the lines between dancer and musician. With both performers prepared to dive into the other's world of art and to push the limits of their plasiticity, expect to see partnering moves as well as the body being used as an instrument.

Meeting point/Location:
Under the Esplanade Bridge nearer to the Esplanade - Theatres on the Bay.

Shows:
12th October 2019 // 16h-16h30, 18h30-19h, 20h30-21h

Biography: plastiCITY is a inter-disciplinary duo comprising of contemporary dancer, Valerie Lim and classical saxophonist, Michellina Chan. They first met when they studied together at Crescent Girls' School (Singapore), now they find themselves challenging not only gravity but also the conception of audiences towards classical contemporary music and dance. Since their conception in 2015, they have tackled all kinds of non-dance stage floors, discovered new ways to convey music and dance in a non-traditional form and also collaborated with more artists in bigger settings.
