I am, but also follows four women as they explore beyond the labels they inhabit, overcoming the ways they have been restricted and seeking ways of empowerment through their identities. Join Anna Chan, Dipali Gupta, Fazleen Karlan and Maisarah Kamal as they look into relationships, family, marriage, career aspirations and the self.
Through various mediums, they question the labeling of women and the roles they are expected to take on within societal norms. Built upon conversations between them and other women they are surrounded by, they question the weight that come with these expected roles, and find ways to subvert the structures of patriarchy to inspire themselves and others.
I am but also is not a conclusion of their questioning. It is a marker on the road to show how far they have travelled. It is a pit stop, to reflect and rest. It is all the hopes for the women who will came after them.
