Join The Finger Player's Co-founder Beng Tian in this 1-week intimate puppetry making and manipulation workshop!
Participants will be introduced to the five major types of puppets – hand, rod, shadow, object and contemporary puppets. They will be taught the fundamental techniques of animating a puppet, how to breathe life into the puppet and how the puppet can be best used for storytelling, performing and communicating.
Basic mechanisms and gadgets will be introduced to the participants when they start designing and building their puppet. They will pick up the skill of handling machinery and tools for the construction of the puppet.
The process of the workshop will focus on analysis and problem solving during the building and manipulation.
This masterclass is open to anyone, aged 18 and above, interested in puppet making. Prior experience not required. Must be able to attend all sessions.
