Synopsis:
Contemplating on Still Waters – Xu Hua Xin's Solo Exhibition (22 – 30 September) centres on the relationship between ink, paper and water, one of the five traditional Chinese elements. The works are created using artist Xu Hua Xin's unique water wash technique, where the entire rice paper is soaked in water, before being painted on with minimal ink. As such, Xu's works are often observed in the intensity of the water, rather than the ink. His mastery of ink and water will be highlighted in a breathtaking eight-meter tall painting as part of the exhibition.
