Synopsis:

"Dancehall Day Camp", the first of its kind in Singapore, is a movement for positive dancehall experiences, bringing to fruition the idea of a full day dance education and training.

Headlined in August by internationally renowned choreographer Crazy Hype (an originator of dancehall moves in Jamaica), the camp focuses on the introduction of Authentic Old & Middle School Dancehall.

And in September, Rafa Redvolcon (leading Spanish icon in the dancehall arean), will be focusing on the development of New School Dancehall.

The camp includes master classes, lectures and parties by these established professionals, as well as specially curated dance activities to forge community spirit.

This gives the youths the unique opportunity to both interpret and apply what they have learnt in the presence of an expert, advancing their craft as a community and elevating the dancehall standards in Singapore.

Organised by Bashment People's Party, a collective of 3 dancehall instructors who have brought with them a vast network and experiences as active leaders in their community for the past 5 - 10 years, they hope to influence the community with experiences that encourages positive learning, self discovery and development.
