Synopsis:
Mirrors of Time creates a parallel between chamber music works by composers of Baroque and Classical periods and those composers of the 20th century, who drew inspiration from music of the seventeenth and eighteenth century. The repertoire will include works by J.S. Bach, W.A. Mozart, A. Schnittke, and I. Stravinsky. Let's travel in time together with this music!
Performing in this concert are Kseniia Vokhmianina (piano), and fellow award-winning Ukranian musicians, Oleksandr Kornev (violin) and Aleksey Shadrin (cello).
By Candlelight is a new chamber music series presented by The Arts House. The 2018 season features four performances, each carefully curated by pianist Kseniia Vokhmianina, and celebrates how chamber music is best meant to be experienced: in living rooms and cosy venues, surrounded by family and friends. We invite you to hear live music played by fine chamber musicians, mingle with these artists in an informal setting, as well as share and learn music insights.
