Synopsis:

The Singapore International Band Festival is a biennial festival started in 2008 to promote wind bands activities and the exchange of ideas and ideals between local and international bands. Comprising of Contest, Workshops, Exchanges, Outreach Programme and Gala Concert, audience can expect high quality performances fused with unique cultures from over 70 bands from Singapore, Australia, China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Taiwan and Thailand at the Contests, Gala Concert and Outreach Programme.

SIBF 2018 Gala Concert by Feroci Philharmonic Winds (Thailand)

One of Thailand's most outstanding wind orchestra, Feroci Philharmonic Winds is well-known for its high quality and innovative approach of fusing Thai traditional instrument into contemporary wind band music. Founded in 2013, the Feroci Philharmonic Winds is made up of professional musicians, faculty members, alumni and top music students of the Silpakorn University. Feroci Philharmonic Winds has also worked with internationally acclaimed conductors such as Johan de Meij, Bert Appermont, Dougas Bostock to bring to its audiences a unique cultural experience.

Conducted by Damrih Banawitayakit, Surapol Thanyawibool and Felix Hauswirth from Switzerland, the SIBF Gala concert features Johann Stert's Bachseit, Musical Suite by the late King Bhumibol, and Alfred Reed's Othello Suite.

Concert Division & Awards Presentation

The Concert Division of the Singapore International Band Festival showcases outstanding bands from Singapore, Anglo-Chinese Junior College Concert Band, Orchestra Collective and Philharmonic Youth Winds, each presenting their unique programme to compete for the highest title of the festival! Alongside with the winning bands of the other division contest, this music marathon will be a feast to all music fans.
