Synopsis:

garden•uprooted is a music and dance-theatre performance that contrasts the idea of garden as a sanctuary with the upheaval of diaspora in modern times. Featuring nature inspired music by acclaimed Japanese composer Tōru Takemitsu (Between Tides, Nostalgia, Rain Tree, and Tree Line), the performance reflects on the flux of uprooted as the collective story of our times.

Helmed by Cultural Medallion recipients Maestro Lim Yau and Choreographer Angela Liong, the artistic team behind the successes of The Rite of Spring: A People's Stravinsky (2013) and The Mazu Chronicle (2015), this performance is supported by an inter-generational cast comprising senior citizens with dance students performing alongside professional dancers from Arts Fission and musicians from The Philharmonic Orchestra.

Come experience the intense beauty of a transient garden, and watch a quiet drama unfold in garden•uprooted.
