Synopsis:

NUS Harmonica Orchestra is proud to present Soirée 2018 — Oriental Sounds, an immersive showcase of the diverse sounds and music that make up the Far East. Featuring sweeping orchestral masterpieces like Tian Lu, the Yellow River Piano Concerto and Crouching Tiger and Hidden Dragon, our repertoire will be an epic exploration of Eastern music from various traditions. Soirée 2018 will feature our talented soloist, Shen Mingyang, in a delicate and moving rendition of the legendary Chinese piece Butterfly Lovers Concerto. Lucas Tan will also, in a unique break from convention, be presenting an alto horn harmonica solo with the Russian classic The Swan.

Audience members can also look forward to exciting ensemble performances of beautiful pieces. The programme brings out the fusion of diverse music styles and celebrates the group's versatile music style. So join us on a dazzling ride through the ages as we bring you Soirée 2018!
