Synopsis:

Our literature scene is growing. But as some plays become increasingly celebrated in schools and theatres, others remain buried. Female playwrights and screenwriters are still a rare breed even in the 21st Century. Our aim is to highlight the pioneering female writers to a new generation of audience. Where possible, we intend to involve the actual writer in the show as well by giving them an opportunity to talk about their creative process, their challenges and their hopes for the future.

Pioneer Passages is a platform to celebrate the playwrights and screenwriters who have shaped the world of theatre and film. The dramatized reading has actors reading from the page whilst physicalizing some of the action that takes place within the world of the stories. This edition of Pioneer Passages aims to focus on female playwrights and screenwriters.
