Synopsis:
In this one-day seminar, you will meet several people who can help you on your journey in understanding dyslexia and working with dyslexic children aged 7 - 9.
The morning session of the seminar will feature talks on the current situation of dyslexia in Singapore and the role the Dyslexic Association of Singapore is playing, how local publishers have created an innovative, socially inclusive and dyslexia-friendly children's picture book series, and how Iron man Chef Heman Tan overcame challenges faced as a dyslexic.
The afternoon session of the seminar will feature a workshop conducted by Ms Sylvia Foo, Senior Lecturer, Dyslexic Association of Singapore Academy and a focus group session followed by a presentation by the participants. This portion is suitable for teachers, allied educators and therapists who work with dyslexic children aged 7 - 9 years of age.
