Synopsis:

In Tremble Tremble, Irish artist Jesse Jones (born Dublin 1978) transforms the gallery into a multimedia installation which reimagines feminist history and law. The title of the work is inspired by the Wages for Housework Campaign from the Italian feminist movement in the 1970s, during which women chanted Tremate, tremate, le streghe sono tornate! [Tremble, tremble, the witches have returned!].

The exhibition follows Jesse Jones' residency at LASALLE from July to August 2017. Tremble Tremble was originally commissioned by Tessa Giblin, Director of Talbot Rice Gallery, University of Edinburgh, for the Pavilion of Ireland of the 57th Venice Biennale (2017). The exhibition is co-produced with Project Arts Centre, Dublin, and curated at ICA Singapore by Director Bala Starr.

The original production of Tremble Tremble was an initiative of Culture Ireland in partnership with the Arts Council of Ireland.
