Synopsis:

Following the celebration of our 10th anniversary, SMU INDANCITY presents BEYOND 2017: "ALL ART IS QUITE USELESS"?

In response to Oscar Wilde's bold remark in the preface of his novel, The Picture of Dorian Gray, SMU INDANCITY explores the role and purpose of the arts in both our personal lives and society today. Featuring original contemporary dance works from our resident choreographer Dan Kwoh, and established artistes Goh Jia Yin and Yarra Ileto, the triple bill will see each choreographer explore an issue surrounding the arts – art & beauty, art & society, art & the artist.

Look forward to an exciting collaboration with SMU Stereometa and watch first-hand the coming together of contemporary dance and digital music. Join us in contemplating the meaning of the arts at BEYOND 2017: "ALL ART IS QUITE USELESS"?
