Synopsis:

Yellowren Arts Festival returns to the heartlands with the theme of "Love the World" this 26 August 2017 with the support of the National Arts Council. Love is a common and unifying language for transformation. Organised by Yellowren Productions, we hope to inspire you through the arts to love our community and our world.

We invite you and your family to join us for an awesome day out at the beautiful Lower Seletar Reservoir Park. Discover beauty and hope through our canvas and art installations by our local artists. Have a go at creativity through our free hands-on activities such as porcelain art, art jamming, paper marbling, making a light catcher and stitch art. Enjoy music performances by 53A, youth bands from Singapore Polytechnic, Matt & Kim, Better Than Kings and a dance performance from EV Dance. Be inspired by our local young talents in our inter-school canvas art and dance competitions. Savor gourmet meal from "Kerby," the food truck, gelatos and have fun with the family. We'll see you at the park!

Festival Highlights:

From Routes to Roots, an art installation by Alvin Tan, was inspired by a collection of resurfaced mementoes of Alvin's late paternal grandfather. The installation traces Alvin's journey to Hainan Island in search of his grandfather's hometown, and documents the woven relationships between his cultural and genealogical roots as a Hainanese, with ideas of place attachment via artifacts. Alvin Lee is one of the winners of Noise Singapore Award 2015, presented by National Arts Council Singapore.

Arts for All offers a series of workshops for the entire family. The crafts are simple to do and you can have fun with porcelain art, light catchers, stitch art, paper marbling and ink blowing! Visit Arts for all to create your very own art masterpiece!

53A features vocalist Sara Wee, lead guitarist Alvin Khoo, bassist/lead vocalist Bani Hidir, drummer Helman Kamal, keyboardist Nazaruddin Mashruddin and percussionist Serena Chen. The aggregation of their professional experience and infectious personalities has resulted in a distinct 53A charm, which has made the band a hot favourite at 'live' music venues across the island. 53A's original album 'Settle the Kettle' debuted in 2010 and received positive reviews in TODAY, The Business Times and TIME Magazine.

EV Dance is a vibrant, performing arts company based in Singapore. EV Dance is a bridge to the community by providing local and international opportunities for diverse and engaging artistic experiences.
