Everyone knows Cyril Wong – the confessional poet, the award-winning author, the mentor to young writers & poets in the Singapore Literature scene. But what do we know about Cyril Wong in his early days as a poet? Here's your chance to hear these stories from the poet himself, and get your books signed!

Join us at BooksActually as we gather and discover the stories behind some of these poems written in his earlier years.

About the collections:

The End of His Orbit (2001)
The second collection of poems by Cyril Wong explores the tensions of intimate relationships and the rich emptiness of urban life, with odes and elogies to parents, lovers, friends and even the poet himself, then in a final section he hands over the lyric first person to mythical personae.

Below: Absence (2002)
In his third collection of poems, Cyril Wong wrestles with absences behind the everyday hope of recovering new justifications for a more meaningful existence. His poems move from explorations of love to articulating the demands of loss and memory that drive the desire to poetry.

** Both collections reprinted by Math Paper Press in 2017 **
