Synopsis:

Pull the words off the page and bring them to life! Learn the elements that make up great reading aloud/storytelling sessions.

In this workshop, participants will use audio recordings and marked texts to brush up their vocal skills and prepare a performance of their own by the end of the course.

The course starts with work on the vocal quality itself, using breathing and movement techniques employed by actors, professional readers, broadcasters and public figures to increase the strength and reach of their voice.Participants will also work on improving theur vocal tone, clarity, pausing and emphasis and tidy up errors made in pronunciation, cadence and rhythm.

For the final performance, participants prepare a more visual experience focusing on using body posture and position, eye contact, gestures and movement to enliven their stories.
