Synopsis:
The popular annual Aliwal Arts Night Crawl: Rasa Wayang (#AliwalANC) is here again and this year it is inspired by the ancient art of shadow puppetry wayang kulit. Into its fifth year, Aliwal Arts Centre's signature arts festival will take place on Saturday 19 August 2017 from 5pm till late and focuses on the Southeast Asian tradition of wayang kulit and its reinterpretations by an eclectic mix of traditional and contemporary artists based in and around the centre.
The festival also goes car-free for the first time, supported by 'Streets for People', an initiative by the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Singapore that pedestrianises streets for community events.
