Synopsis:
The MINDS Film Festival is back again!
The community of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities (PWID) continue to grow and require opportunities to advance their minds and be empowered to live with hope.
While MINDS expands its efforts to empower them with services that cater to their different life stages through a holistic "whole-person" approach, much more can be done to generate greater awareness to the public and involve them in interacting with PWIDs.
MINDS and Singapore Film Society have come together again for the second year after resounding success from last year's inaugural film festival, to continue its outreach to the public to not just promote social inclusion, but to advocate the advancement of PWIDs' contributions to society.
This year, we are featuring six films from five countries - China, Malaysia, Sweden, UK and USA. The festival will open with Swedish film THE IMPORTANCE OF TYING YOUR SHOES, with director Lena Koppel in Singapore to present her film. Director Tunku Mona Riza and Producer Ku Mohamad Haris will also be in Singapore to present their film - REDHA.
