Synopsis:

Embark on a journey to unearth the untold stories of our heritage with The Kitchen Series #AhMa, where the most important conversations will soon take place!

Supported by the National Heritage Board, this immersive theatrical experience provides participants the opportunity to share stories about their heritage through the medium of an intimate live cooking session.

This session will be hosted and moderated by Kuo Jian Hong, Artistic Director of The Theatre Practice (TTP). Where stories about her parents, Kuo Pao Kun and Goh Lay Luan will be shared through a 3-course meal prepared using personal family recipes.

Due to the unique experiential nature of this program, each participant enters the Kitchen Space with a recipe, departs with a story about their heritage and hopefully, re-enter their lives inspired to collect and discover more stories about where they come from.

In addition, participants will be given an opportunity to interview Kuo Jian Hong about the stories that surround her recipes. Come join in this exciting conversation and spend a meaningful weekend with an evening of food, laughter and stories.

To encourage the future generation of storytellers, there will also be a special live cooking session held for parent-child duos. This opportunity allows for a unique bonding experience, as both parent and child delves into the histories and narratives of loved ones around them, and perhaps, even themselves! This session will be held by Kuo Jian Hong, award- winning director behind productions such as Lao Jiu The Musical and outstanding children's productions such as The Wee Question Mark and the little adventurer.

Live cooking sessions will be hosted in English.
