Join French street dance and acrobatics troupe, Mademoiselle Pailette, for its performance Les Rouges Coeurs (Red Hearts) at the opening of Voilah! 2017 as they turn the Gardens by the Bay Supertree Grove into an ephemeral world filled with whimsical characters. From gravity-defying aerial performances to roving performers on stilts, festivalgoers are bound to find a surprise at every corner at the opening of Voilah! 2017.
Once Upon A Time Tomorrow, a photography exhibition by renowned French photographer, Chris Morin-Eitner, will also have its Vernissage on the opening of Voilah!. Inspired by the majestic temples of Angkor Wat in Cambodia, the exhibition transports visitors to reimagined and foreign landscapes of abandoned cities and monuments that have been reclaimed by nature. Highlighting the often vulnerable and fragile relationship between man and nature, it features over 90 images that imagine the transformation of major capitals and landmarks from around the world, should they be overrun by flora and fauna. Once Upon A Time Tomorrow takes place till 21 May 2017.
