Synopsis:

The year is 1968, and a lavish Las Vegas-style niteclub opens its doors for the very first time in the heart of Orchard Road. Known for its international class topless revues, glamorous stars and part of the lifestyle of the rich and famous of its time, Tropicana captured the imagination of the nation and brought some hard-hitting realities to light.

But Tropicana The Musical is a story less about tits than it is about balls. The balls of a nation of dream makers and catchers wanting to burst out of this tiny island. Based on real and imagined people and stories, Tropicana The Musical remembers an era of dreams that ruled and dreams that ruined.

You'll bust your gut laughing at its killer comedy and sob through its love songs as we invite you back into a time where dialogue had dialect, long-haired rockers strangled guitars in smoke-filled rooms, naive kampung girls fended off vice and virgin-hunters to make better lives for themselves, long-service secretaries hid secret loves, Eurasian radio DJs tangled with teenage hearts and gangland fights broke out in back alleys over turf and territory as a middle-aged tycoon walked away from everything he knew to change his destiny.
