Synopsis:
Richard Koh Fine Art is excited to share with you an upcoming solo exhibition, titled Sanctuary, by Malaysian artist Justin Lim (b.1983) starting on Friday 26 February @ RKFA SG. Lim will not be in Singapore for the exhibition due to the pandemic. However, I will be more than happy to link you up with him over emails if you are keen. The exhibition will unveil twelve new works from Lim.
In Sanctuary, Lim unveils paintings created as a response to being trapped in the pandemic. This body of work presents dreamlike spaces juxtaposed with the everyday life in disjointed, constructed and at times, artificial environments. This series places the human figure, painted from Lim's personal photographs of friends and acquaintances, in a field of tension between imaginary landscapes, architecture and collage-esque 'glitches'.
