Synopsis:

"Soltani fills gracefully shaped phrases with eloquent, butterscotch-tinted cello sound. He crafts a lucid, clearly defined and distinctly classical reading, not without humour"
–Gramophone on Soltani's performance of Dvořák's Cello Concerto

"...Amsterdam Sinfonietta clearly demonstrated why it is considered to be one of the Netherland's top orchestras...the musicians breathed in unison as one woman (the majority wins), presenting a truly convincing interpretation packed with excitement and intensity."
– Dagblad de Limburger by Maurice Wiche

Praised for his "sheer perfection" by The Times, virtuoso cellist Kian Soltani joins the acclaimed Amsterdam Sinfonietta for their highly anticipated Singapore debut at Esplanade.

Under the direction of visionary violinist Candida Thompson, the Amsterdam Sinfonietta has earned international recognition for its bold, genre-defying collaborations and its commitment to innovative programming and unparalleled artistry. Together with Soltani—winner of the prestigious International Paulo Cello Competition and recipient of the Credit Suisse Young Artist Award at the Lucerne Festival in 2017—they will present a mesmerising programme that spans the works of Schubert, Mendelssohn, and the iconic Haydn's Cello Concerto No. 1 in C major. This celebrated concerto, a masterpiece of symphonic elegance, is a favourite among cellists and a testament to Haydn's genius.
