ARTIST-IN-RESIDENCE PROGRAM BY OO LA LAB

Are you an artist, influencer, or student passionate about the world of scent, creativity, and cultural storytelling? We're excited to invite you to become our next Artist in Residence at Oo La Lab in Chinatown, Singapore.
Artists are encouraged to visit the venue during open hours, providing a chance to explore opportunities as part of the Artist-in-Residence program.

Deadline to apply: January 26, 2025.

Dates of the program: February 10th, 2025 - May 10th, 2025.

Selected applicants for the Artist-in-Residence program at Oo La Lab will receive a variety of benefits to support their creative journey:
- Financial Stipend: Participants will receive a monthly stipend during the residency.
- Access to Studio and Materials: Artists will have full access to the fragrance studio, fragrance materials, vessels, and production tools necessary for creating scent-inspired artworks.
- Mentorship: Collaborate with in-house scent artists and storytellers, gaining insights into the intersection of art, culture, and chemistry.
- Exposure and Marketing: Their work will be featured in Oo La Lab stores, on social media channels, and during special events, providing significant exposure to a community of scent enthusiasts and creatives.
- Exhibition Opportunity: At the end of the residency, artists will host a solo exhibition of their work within Oo La Lab, potentially including an event or workshop designed by them.

What we expect:
- Fresh Creative Perspectives: We're looking for artists who can bring new energy, bold ideas, and innovative storytelling to the lab, exploring themes that align with our brand's ethos—such as cultural narratives, sensory storytelling, or social impact.
- Collaborative Spirit: You'll work alongside our team to co-create immersive experiences, experimental products, and unique campaigns that blend your artistic touch with the world of fragrance.
- Social Media Content: As part of the residency, we expect regular content creation (e.g., behind-the-scenes videos, social media takeovers, or blog posts) to document your journey, connect with our community, and share your evolving ideas.
- Alignment with Our Values: We're looking for individuals who have a passion for sensory experiences, sustainability, and cultural storytelling.

Ideal candidate skills & abilities:
- Artistic Talent: You should have a strong foundation in an artistic discipline—be it visual arts, design, photography, or mixed media—with a portfolio showcasing your creativity.
- Storytelling Ability: You should be able to translate concepts into engaging narratives, whether through visuals, written content, or experiential designs.
- Interest in Scent & Culture: While prior experience with fragrance isn't necessary, a keen interest in sensory storytelling, cultural exploration, and innovative expression is key.
- Social Media Savvy: Ability to create engaging content across platforms (e.g., Instagram, TikTok, YouTube) is a plus, as part of the residency involves sharing your creative journey.
