Synopsis:
HIGHLIGHTS
- Classical music reimagined
- An auditory and emotional classical music experience
Are you ready for a fresh take on classical music? DIFFERENT is the daring debut by Singapore's latest string ensemble - the Bards of Neverland. The Bards' adventurous program promises to infuse Singapore's music scene with some long awaited spice and excitement.
Violinists Yang Shuxiang and David Loke Kai Yuan, violist Martin Peh Renyu and cellist Cho Hang Oh are the Bards of Neverland.
DIFFERENT looks at the struggle between hope and tragedy. The program fleets between darkness and light, from the intense romanticism of Felix Mendelssohn to the minimalism of Max Richter and the atonal language of Alfred Schnittke. Also featured are two original compositions by violinist David Loke and their own arrangement of VariaciĆ³n Andina by Freddy Pucha.
Breaking away from the traditional concert hall settings, this late-night, reflective hour concert at the historic Pasir Panjang Power Station immerses one into a very different auditory and emotional experience.
