Synopsis:

"Off the Wall" is a sustainable art exhibition series featuring artists live-painting wall murals in Art Outreach's gallery space over a period of two months.

The inaugural edition, "Modern Wisdoms", curated by Zarina Muhammad, presents original works by ANTZ, Chris Chai, and Lewis Choo. Boldly stepping into a contemporary white cube space, they will present imaginative interpretations of Chinese folklore, popular literature, and iconography, while inviting new perspectives on cultural motifs and narratives that have been transmitted through generations.

We are also privileged to work with a cultural partner: Say Tian Hng Buddha Shop. Established in 1896, this fourth-generation business has hand-crafted Taoist and Buddhist statues using time-honed techniques. Say Tian Hng will be running workshops for children and adults throughout the exhibition period.

The exhibition will be open to the public Mondays - Sundays, 11am - 7pm from 7 September to 24 October. Watch out for our IG stories and posts to stay updated on the artist schedules if you wish to witness them working on their mural onsite, and if you'd like to attend workshops by Say Tian Hng.
