Synopsis:

Taken from the words of the Virgin Mary during her visit to her cousin Elizabeth, the Magnificat remains one of the most popular and most recited prayers of devotion to the Virgin Mary today and is a popular inspiration for composers across history and cultures. Join the 5 AM Early Music Singers in their first live concert as they perform music from the Marian Vespers, singing works by various Renaissance masters such as Victoria, Lassus and Palestrina. Ending the concert will be the Magnificat a 6 voci by Monteverdi, taken from the 1610 Vespro della Beata Vergine.
