Perception . 幻.悟 marks a new chapter in NUS Chinese Dance's history as it presents 2 exciting new works by highly acclaimed choreographers Jenny Neo and Xiao Jing, who are presently the group's tutors.
Shades by Jenny Neo unveils a picture of a journey through life's trials and tribulations to find meaning. Graduating slowly from hazy indistinct light and a sense of lostness to increasing illumination as lights get brighter, the path leads to a clearer view of the extraordinary life led, inviting us to reflect on our past with gratefulness.
Enlightenment by Xiao Jing examines the sense of enlightenment as a state of being. At which point do we achieve higher consciousness? Is there a eureka moment or just as flowers of various colors seem to burst suddenly to life with light, do our hearts bloom in life's moments from becoming into being?
Whether stillness of contemplation or movement and the moment, NUS Chinese Dance's Perception invites you on an adventurous encounter with dance and discovery.
