Synopsis:

If you could give a piece of advice to someone, who's that someone you have in mind?

Are they someone with whom you'll share a meal while lying on their chest? Or someone whose birthday you still remember even though your time walking together in life is over? Or maybe they are someone whom you want to give a piece of your mind to for all the destruction they brought onto you?

What would you say? And what does it come down to?

Bored Whale Theatre presents Unsolicited Advice From My Ex: Double Bill, two new short plays created by Wisely Chow, featuring the talents of Azura Farid, Dennis Sofian and Masturah Oli for a set of dreamscapes ignited by the rumination of these intrusive questions.

The first play, Unsolicited Advice From My Ex-(Self), follows Damian meeting up with Jordan at a cafe, an old friend whom they had not seen in ages. As they battle through the awkwardness of small talks and the inevitable reminiscing of the past, we soon notice that the cafe is not what it seems and discover the reason for this meeting.

Following it, we step into the second play, Unsolicited Advice From My Ex-(Friend). We find Esha and Diti, two ex-friends trapped in a room together, with no way out. What started as petty digs at one another soon submerges us in their trip down a hypnotic memory lane, uncovering the mystery of how they got trapped and who locked them up in this strange room in the first place.

*Rating to be advised.

Content Warning - Discussions of Addiction; Alcoholism.
In the first play, Unsolicited Advice From My Ex-(Self), there are two separate scenes in which Damian brings up the topic of their sobriety. And a depiction of the consumption of alcohol by Damian in another scene.
