Synopsis:

Annually, the tiny dragonfly migrates over 14,000km in search of a place to lay its eggs.

In contrast, the human race struggles to embrace its nomadic heritage.

The year is 2021 and climate change is wreaking havoc across the globe.

Like the coastline around him, Leslie Chan's life, as he knows it, is crumbling to dust. Forced to abandon his home in England, he has no choice but to move his family to his birthplace, Singapore. Returning to a country that is worlds apart from the one he grew up in, Leslie starts to question the meaning of home.

Dragonflies is a story of a family fighting for survival in a hostile world; looking for somewhere to call home and something that looks like hope.

Starring Adrian Pang, Tan Kheng Hua, Fanny Kee, Benjamin Chow, Frances Lee, Elizabeth Morse, Matt Grey, Jamil Schulze, and Shona Benson. Directed by Tracie Pang. Written by Stephanie Street.

Dragonflies was commissioned by Singapore International Festival of Arts (SIFA) 2017 and marked its debut there with a sold-out run. It returns by popular demand to the Pangdemonium 2018 Season and is nominated in eight categories at the 2018 Straits Times Life! Theatre Awards including Best Script and Production of the Year.
