About Summer DanceFit Festival 2017
"Summer DanceFit Festival (SDF) is an event under ODT Cares, with a mission to promote the understanding of the inter-connectedness of arts and health, with the social services community and the community-at-large." said by ODT's Chairman, Ms Koh Sauk Keow.

Integrating related areas of dance, health and fitness, ODT launched a three-week nationwide festival – Summer DanceFit Festival in June 2006, graced by the former Minister of State – Mrs Yu-Foo Yee Shoon at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

The 2nd attempt in 2008 had presented the festival at various platforms and venues, benefitting more audiences through "dance in the natural greenery". Its finale was held at The Shaw Symphony Stage at the Singapore Botanic Gardens, "bringing together a strong ensemble of 520 dynamic youths in the closing, presenting excellent synergetic dance items, this festival is a call to foster exchanges, encourage new grounds and provide a spectrum of dances/movements, health and fitness disciplines." as witnessed by Ms Penny Low, Member of Parliament for Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC.

In 2013, the 3rd SDF coincided with the opening of Aliwal Arts Centre (AAC), witnessed by Mr Lawrence Wong, Minister for Culture, Community and Youth. As ODT's first major event at ODT's new home – Aliwal Arts Centre, this edition brought seven different platforms to engage the community from all walks of life. SDF coincided with AAC's aims of bringing together the arts community, supporters of the arts, and the general public to explore a new frontier in performing arts.
