Synopsis:

Workshop 1 - Pinch! Mugs and Bowls
8 Nov 24 | 11am - 12:30pm
Make your own functional objects (bowl and mug) using Pinching techniques

Learn to pinch a bowl with Ken Lu! Pinching is a rudimentary technique that holds huge potential in clay making, with no limitations. This method of construction is well-suited for home or small scale production with a bare minimum of equipment and tools. Watch the techniques used and try it yourself under Ken Lu's careful guidance!

Workshop level: Basic. No pottery experience needed.

Workshop 2 - Pinch! Asymmetrical Forms
8 Nov 24 | 1:30pm - 3:30pm
Explore pinching methods. Pinch vessels to a height of 25cm!

Pinching techniques have been around for most of the history of ceramics. Recently, much of our attention has been given to wheel throwing; especially on social media and due to our urge to "produce" fast. Let's look retrospectively into pinching clay works and how we can incorporate this into our creative space.

Workshop level: Basic. Some pottery experience needed.
