Synopsis:

According to the United Nations, today over 108 million people around the world are forcibly displaced by persecution, conflict and violence. If this population made up a country, it would be the 15th largest on the planet.

This is one of the foremost challenges facing society in the 21st Century. Economic and political instability, human caused climate change and the interconnectedness of the modern world are all key drivers of migration. Refugees are among the most vulnerable, migrating because they have little or no choice but to do so.

The large and growing community of refugees and other displaced people is spread widely around the globe. "Threads" features photographs taken in over 20 countries, focusing on the people impacted by these systemic drivers of the refugee crisis, emphasizing our shared humanity with those who find themselves in very difficult circumstances.
