Synopsis:
Auditioning and directing actors are vital skills to being a director. This workshop focuses on imparting the psychological tools needed to motivate actors and draw out their best performances, in order to achieve the director's vision. The instructor will share personal experiences and anecdotes, helping hone participants' mastery of directing techniques. A hands-on session will also allow participants to guide actors through a scene and experience the collaborative process of the crafting the cinematic performance.
Instructor:
Wee Li Lin is one of Singapore's pioneer female filmmakers. She has made numerous short films and two feature films, as well as telemovies and commercials. Her films have travelled to prestigious festivals and won several awards locally and internationally. In 2018, Wee was commissioned to direct Singapore's National Day music video We are Singapore, an instant sensation. She also teaches film studies at various tertiary institutions around Singapore.
