Synopsis:

Cinémathèque Selects is a monthly double-bill screening that brings together a Singapore film and a second film that inspired it. Each double-bill is accompanied by a Question and Answer session with the Singaporean film-maker. Focusing on diverse aspects of film-making, from directing to producing, script writing to cinematography and art direction, the series is a study of important local production

Short films featuring sound design by Lim Ting Li
Lim Ting Li began her professional career in film audio in 2004. Featuring short films by filmmakers as diverse as Boo Junfeng and Ho Tze Nyen, this screening by Cinémathèque Selects highlights Lim as a prominent sound designer in Singapore's film scene.

The Birds
An acclaimed film by Alfred Hitchcock, The Birds, unlike other films of its time that were reliant on musical scores, relies instead on an electronic soundtrack that includes simulated bird cries and wing flaps to create feelings of tension and pastoral calm.
