Synopsis:

You might have seen their works, now get to know the people behind them. #ArtistAnonymous is our series of PRESSPLAY panel talks where we invite local artisans to talk about their profession, and share their collaborative works done with fellow creatives.

A picture paints a thousand words, and it doesn't have to be on 2D media. These creatives will present their take on how illustration can present a better story.

Wu Yanrong is a graphic designer and illustrator who works mainly in traditional mediums. Much of her work is inspired by nature, especially marine life. in 2016, she was commissioned Uniqlo Singapore to create an artwork for limited edition bags as part of their flagship store opening. The same year, her illustrations were featured at Hermēs' The Big Blue window display in Singapore. She hopes to help raise environmental awareness through her illustrations.

Made in Singapore, Snupped is a customisation platform which empowers the individual to create, produce, and fulfil custom products instantly. Snupped envisions a reduced reliance on mass-manufacturing, and is designed to be simple, user-friendly, and readily available. They also take an international approach to collaborating with illustrators and designers to create stylish lifestyle pieces that are functional as well.

This programme is part of the National Library Board's PRESSPLAY, an annual youth festival aimed to celebrate the impact of arts in young people's lives. Now in its fourth year running, PRESSPLAY collaborates with local studios, independent artisans and design collectives to offer a myriad of arts programmes from 14 Jan - 18 Mar 2017.
